Dialogue Across Difference

Through a series of engaging activities and reflection exercises participants who take part in this workshop will be able to:

  • Identify personal limitations to engagement in dialogue across differences.
  • Identify what they need to engage in meaningful conversation though respectful dialogue without the intention of persuasion.

The Construction and Maintenance of Systemic Racism @ Zoom

This session will explore the history of race and racism and how it is maintained today in institutions across Canada. This workshop is designed to complement the anti-racism REDI series and is heavily information focused, aiming to give context to what is happening in our world today. Unlike other REDI sessions, the emphasis is less on skill-building and more on awareness-building and we strongly encourage participants to take this session in conjunction with other anti-racism workshops with a more action-oriented content.

Having to work with others is a common requirement in the workplace. When collaboration is successful, you feel positive, productive, and willing to face any challenge. This seminar will build on the notion that cooperation and building bridges can be learned and should be practiced. It will teach participants the key elements of teamwork and provide them with the opportunity to practice collaboration-building techniques.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this seminar, participants will be able to do the following:
- Understand emotional reactions and what their underlying causes may be.

Intervening on Racism

This workshop will be highly participation-based, and ask attendees to design strategies and practice tools to intervene on moments of racial discrimination, harassment, and microaggressions. Prior familiarity with these concepts is recommended.
