This course is about simplicity, or the idea that simple, clear writing is the direction to go if you want to communicate effectively.

The course follows an unconventional journey. It starts by looking to Coca-Cola, Google, Ernest Hemingway and Warren Buffett for exemplary, straightforward writing frameworks. It uses these frameworks to emphasize the need for active voice in clear writing practices, as well as to deemphasize often overused nouns, verbs and phrases that impede sentence clarity, energy and readability. It also speaks to the critical importance of coherent writing and how you can best ensure that your sentences hook together logically and sequentially toward clear, integrated paragraphs. The course introduces a Top 20 list of common grammar errors in business and professional writing and closes with a punctuation primer that underlines the six key rules driving 80 percent of all punctuation usage.

In this course, you will be able to:

  • build a solid foundation for better writing
  • set clear objectives for all business and professional writing
  • excel across business writing genres.

Who Should Attend: This course is for all levels of learners who want to become more confident, efficient and effective in their writing.
