Description

This interactive business writing course is designed to help participants build a solid foundation to write with clarity, effectiveness and professionalism.

Through the course work and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to set clear objectives in their writing, get to the point, provide the right amount of details and excel across different genres of professional writing. Participants will learn to improve their grammar, punctuation and writing style by focusing on organization, tone, exactness in language and clarity.

Course structure: The course is divided into three areas as follows:

Excelling in five business-writing styles:
• formal business correspondence;
• sales and marketing communications;
• email correspondence;
• internal staff memos and office communications; and
• business presentations.

Setting clear objectives in your writing:
• sizing up and guiding your audience; and
• clarifying your objectives.

Foundations for better business writing:
• effective grammar and logical writing practices;
• being active, not passive;
• being concise, not cumbersome;
• punctuation punch-up: how to use commas, colons, semi-colons and dashes in your writing; • and much more.
