This information session provides you with information about the Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion (REI) and its services, including its complaints resolution procedure. You will also learn about the work of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer at York, and information about the Employment Equity Self-Identification Survey.

You will also receive an overview of the Ontario Human Rights Code related to the responsibilities of all York University members.

This session, you will look at areas, such as:

  • Role of REI office and its many services;
  • Ontario Human Rights Code;
  • Increasing Respect, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) for the York community;
  • Getting involved in equity initiatives for employees and the wider York community.

Audience: The session is for all levels of newly hired and existing York employees. Essential for all employees, this offering provides the information and technical knowledge employees require to understand and deliver on York’s culture, policies and procedures.
